When it comes to law school, the topic of dating often conjures up cringe-worthy images such as potentially facing a loath some ex as your future adversary; or becomes associated with words like, unprofessional. While the chances are slim for accidentally running into your ex as opposing counsel in court only a small portion of cases result in court per yearthere are much stronger reasons available that build a dating in law school for why it might not be the best idea to date someone in law school. Whether you are a 1L or a 3L, law school related obligations reign paramount to any personal commitments. The sheer volume of tasks alone dictate the amount of responsibility and focus required to excel throughout those three short, yet formidable years. In law school, you will find yourself faced with: specified courses, assignments, finals, graduation requisites, internships, externshipsinterviews, summer jobsand extra-curricular activities.
In general, law students are notorious for being strapped for time, overflowing with stress, and unreliable when it comes to social commitments. Better yet, what are the pros and cons of dating as a law student … or dating a law student? When it comes to maintaining a pre-existing relationship in law school I think it really depends on the circumstance of the relationship — i. With that said, after entering law dating in law school, most dating concerns regard beginning a relationship in law school. Generally speaking, a law student will better understand your life; they know when the busy times are, what the stress is like, and likely share some similar interests. Likewise, dating someone at your school is bound to attract some level of attention amongst your peers, so if you like your privacy this may not be the route for you. Finally, dating someone at your law school, or a law student generally, may just be too much law school. A non-law student can help ground you, and remind you that there is an outside world.

Most law school broads are gross, and unless you just want a warm and wet place to park your pecker, look elsewhere to get laid. I agree it is very tough for the law students to love, considering the time constraint they have and not giving enough quality time is a sure shot relationship killer. I wonder if lawyers dating in law school vow to live a celibate life during their course to avoid heart breaks?
Blurbs that decry the selfishness and greed of these non-legal lovers; how can they not understand time and energy it takes to read for torts? We have the time to text you back; the truth is we choose not to. You should never let your significant other get away with inconsiderate or offensive behavior just because he or she is in law school. It does not immutably change you, make you special or give you a free pass to being a jerk. Nobody wins, which dating in law school annoying. When choosing a partner, in both the legal and relationship sense, you have to find someone who complements you. The one who carries a color-coded planner and has my life charted out until next July. Not even joking.
Give up arguing with a law student because he or she will not back down arguing is practically their job. They will challenge you until they are blue in the face…even if you are obviously correct. Thus, be emotionally ready because they will find some defamation of your character or numerous evidentiary examples of why they are clearly winning the argument. In the end just accept the fact—they are always right. You need to know that you will not stay awake until the wee hours of the night talking about your dreams dating in law school goals until one of you falls asleep.
